Come enjoy our vacation home when we aren’t there.
“Moondance” is nestled between Dupont State Forest and Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area (Jones Gap State Park + Caesars Head) and 15 minutes to downtown Brevard.
But you don’t need to leave. There is plenty to do here. At the house, we have games, a card table, bumper pool, ping pong, a kid’s playhouse and a hot tub. Of course there’s cable TV and high speed internet WIFI or just relaxing on the front porch.
The kitchen is well provisioned with all the utensils you need, crock pot, griddle, pots and pans, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, blender and a gas grill on the back deck.
Located in the Sherwood Forest community, you have access to:
- the heated Jr. Olympic size swimming pool (Memorial Day – end of summer)
- an 18-hole par 3 golf course (my old clubs are available)
- tennis courts (2 new rackets are here for you use)
- more than 20 miles of hiking trails with beautiful waterfalls
- 5 lakes for swimming or fishing (no license needed – a fishing pole is here too) or canoeing (canoe provided)
You are minutes (5 miles) from Dupont State Forest with fishing, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking and some spectacular waterfalls. Come see where the Last of the Mohicans was filmed. If you are mountain biking, you’ll appreciate the bike washing rack we have for you.
Also just minutes away (6 miles) is the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area where Caesars Head State Park connects with Jones Gap State Park in South Carolina. Lots of hiking, scenic overlooks and waterfalls. Pretty Place and a dozen summer camps are within a few miles.
Beautiful downtown Brevard is just a 15 minute drive away. There are several breweries, dining, shopping, arts, events, Brevard College, the Brevard Music Center and nearby the Pisgah National Forest for more hiking, biking, fishing and waterfalls.
Moondance is easy to find at night with paved road access (although the driveway is steep). There is parking on-site for up to 5 vehicles (room for a trailer).
We’re only a 45 minute drive to the Asheville Regional airport and an hour from Spartanburg/Greenville International airport in South Carolina.
